Ann Balasuriya
Ann is the Executive Director of IAPM, founded this MTTI in 1990, and is an IAPM certified Teacher Trainer. She holds both IAPM and AMI Montessori Preprimary Diplomas and Elementary Montessori credentials.  She has well over thirty years experience working with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies while teaching, directing, and establishing several schools and various Teacher Training centers.  Ann was one of the early founders of the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) , and she served for eight years as a member of both its Board of Directors and the Commission on Accreditation.  While Ann still owns Montessori schools, she is presently focused on the training of teachers and especially teacher trainers to extend and perpetuate authentic Montessori. She delivers most of the lectures for MTTI, conducts well attended workshops, and also offers services as an independent consultant.

Lillian Gleason Garrison
Lillian is the MTTI Program Director.  The daughter of the famous artist Joe Duncan Gleason, she is a graduate of USC and taught fine arts for many years before discovering Montessori as a second career.  Lillian earned an IAPM Montessori Preprimary Diploma in 1992, and taught Montessori for ten years before retiring from the classroom.  She still teaches art at the Montessori School of Laguna Beach and is developing a Montessori Art Workshop program.

Deepa Somasundaram
Deepa is the Administrator of the Laguna Beach training site and is an IAPM certified Teacher Trainer.  She holds both IAPM and AMI Montessori Preprimary Diplomas and trained with NCME in Montessori Elementary Education.   Deepa is an IAPM certified Elementary Teacher, has been teaching since 1983, and currently directs the Montessori School of Laguna Beach while teaching a preprimary class.  She also offers her services as an independent consultant.

Janaki Sarathchandra
Janaki is the Administrator of the Oceanside training site and is an IAPM certified Teacher Trainer.  She holds both IAPM and AMI Montessori Preprimary Diplomas and trained with NCME in Montessori Elementary Education.  Janaki has been teaching since 1989, owns three Montessori schools, and currently directs the Montessori School of Encinitas.  She recently established and supports an orphanage in Sri Lanka for tsunami survivors.

Mumtaz Saleh
Mumtaz is the Administrator of the Huntington Beach training site and is an IAPM certified Teacher Trainer.  She holds both IAPM and AMI Montessori Preprimary Diplomas and has been teaching since 1986.  Mumtaz established the Discovery Montessori School in Orange County, currently directs the Al Farouk Learning Center in Anaheim, and is the Early Childhood coordinator of the Crescent MTTI.
